The new Vigilant platform will offer a customer portal that integrates into the My Access Point portal providing real time statistics and reporting. The enriched platform has the ability to set thresholds related to different metrics and provide customers alerts based on their needs. Access Point’s 20 year history of delivering superior telecom and complex data network solutions puts them in an ideal position to provide customers top-notch managed services.
Access Point offers two options for monitoring and maintaining network availability. Alert Platform notifies customers of WAN connection issues via email or SMS. When an Internet circuit loses connectivity the system will send out an immediate update to advise our customers of the issue. The Vigilant NOC team will monitor the platform 24/7/365 and advise the designated customer contacts of the outage. Restore Platform allows Access Point ownership of monitoring connections. Once an issue is identified our engineering team will begin troubleshooting the issue, take ownership of proactively opening a ticket with the underlying carrier and driving to resolution. Our customer service team will advise that a trouble ticket has been opened and continue to keep customers updated on status until fixed. The Restore platform will offer the threshold options as well as the portal access to view and pull reporting and connection statistics.

Cary, NC, May 20, 2015 - Access Point, Inc. today announced the addition of Robert Buffa to their executive team in the role of Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Mr. Buffa, a 26 year telecom veteran, is well known in the worlds of both channel and direct sales having been a member of executive teams at several telecommunications companies.
Prior to joining Access Point, Buffa spent the past seven years as the VP of Sales & Partner Development at Broadsmart where he led a very successful effort to transform the company into a nationwide provider of Hosted Unified Communications to enterprise level clients. Prior to that Buffa spent a decade at BTI Telecommunications as the VP of Dealer Sales and managed the transition from BTI to Deltacom, in the process building one of the largest channel programs in the country. Buffa began his telecommunications career in 1989, owning and operating several family owned phones companies.

Michael Newkirk Joins Associated Communications Companies of America

Most recently, Newkirk headed up his own consulting firm where he provided CBO-level corporate strategy, business development, product commercialization, and strategic marketing consulting to startup and high-growth companies across a broad spectrum of industries. Prior to that he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of BTI, up until their merger with Deltacom where he grew revenues from $8 million to $350 million annually. He has an impressive track record of more than 30 years of hands-on experience in strategic planning, business unit development, project and product management, and system engineering strategies.
